Position Overview
As our Stahl folder Operator, you will setup, run and maintain bindery equipment. Our daily activies include:

  • Set up of sheet-fed and digital printing folds ranging from a letter fold to a 32 page signature.
  • Review the job ticket to determine project specifications and set up the machine appropriately.
  • Transport and load paper goods using pallet jack.
  • Set feeder alignment and vacuum in-feed plate settings and measurements, roller settings and driver paper thickness, score or slitter to match fold sequence, side guide position for right angle. Check finished piece to spec and samples.
  • Quickly address issues and troubleshoot to identify solutions; communicate with supervisor or sales team in a timely manner.
  • Perform daily and periodic maintenance on equipment; maintain a tidy work area.
  • Accurately track project work using Window-based software.
  • Day shift schedule: 9am to 5pm, 40 hours

Our ideal candidate will have direct experience with print/binding processes, but we will train motivated candidates who demonstrate mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Folding experience or saddle stitcher
  • Ability to work independently at a high level, maintaining communications with team through job tracking system, verbal or written channels.
  • Basic proficiency with computers. Basic math skills and ability to read a ruler.
  • Visual acuity; ability to identify shift's in color or print quality.
  • Ability to read printed work order; attention to detail.
  • Forklift truck experience a plus.
  • Willing to work weekends and overtime as needed.

Compensation: Pay will be based on level of experience. Overtime and weekend incentives available.
